"Careful use of color"...

Knowledge of color can make or break a designer as well as a decorative painter. Choices the homeowner must make are always challenging when shopping for carpet, tile, window treatments etc. The color of all these elements in the interior of a space must work together to create the desired mood and feel. The decorative painter has an especially tricky role in the design "soup" if you will. The skillful use of the spectrum comes in handy when trying to match and compliment any and all existing interior decor. Plus, it helps to have a little taste. I have found in many instances that a kind of "mental-conduit" must form between the client and the artist. In other words, a pipeline of visual ideas and information. Starting with ideas from the clients imagination, then on through the artist, then on to the wall, It's kind of like bringing someones daydream to life. Communication between the client and the artist is key to a flawless illusionary paint-job. Pfeiffer
